Scribblers is a REGISTERED CHARITY and is a committee
run playgroup. It is managed by a group of parents whose children
attend the playgroup, for the benefit of everyone involved. It is
YOUR PLAYGROUP and we need your help to secure its future – without
a committee (without you) we cannot function. Our regular meetings
are informal and everyone is welcome to what is very much a social
gathering. Please let us know of any help you can offer by being on
our committee – it will be greatly appreciated. Committee jobs are;
Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Provisions, Rota secretary, Admissions,
Fund Raisers.
WHAT IS A REGISTERED CHARITY?
As a charity, we totally exist on fees paid by you
for your child’s place, fund-raising efforts and donations. Playgroups
do not yet form part of the States schooling system and as such, we
do not receive any money from the Government or Local Council. Your
help is absolutely vital by way of rota duties, support for committee
and in your fund-raising efforts. If we do not hold regular committee
meetings and an Annual General Meeting, we risk losing our charity
status and our fees would be double their present level. We enjoy
many benefits of being a Charity and it is vital to our survival that
we retain this status.
